Camp Widow® roundtable: Extremely young
Extremely young roundtable discussion
Hosted by: Lauren Leslie
Join First Light’s co-founder Lauren Leslie, for this extremely young roundtable discussion. This roundtable discussion, for people aged in their 20’s and 30’s when they were widowed, will provide an opportunity for those, who typically find it the hardest to find each other and connect, to come together on the first day of Camp.
About Lauren
Supporting young widowed people is at the heart of why First Light was founded in 2016. Lauren , one of our co-founders, was aged in her 20’s when she lost her husband James to depression, and felt so isolated by her experience, struggling to find anyone else her age who could relate.
Lauren has a keen interest in making space for those widowed in their 20s and 30s to share their unique experiences, which include mourning the loss of the life you never got to share with your person, planning a funeral when your friends are planning dates, engagement parties or weddings, giving your grandparents widowhood advice, and sometimes having your grief dismissed because you’re simply too young to be a ‘real’ widow/er.
Hope, community, understanding
