Camp Widow 2024 presenter application
Interested in being a Camp Widow® Australia 2024 volunteer presenter?
THANK YOU for your interest in becoming a Camp Widow Australia presenter. We are incredibly grateful to our presenters who volunteer their time to join us and share their experience, expertise and hearts with our campers.
Camp Widow seeks to create a peer to peer community, focused on hope and healing for the widowed. The program provides opportunities for personal growth and social connection, as well as practical tools, and research-informed resources.
Uniquely, the entire program is delivered by widowed people, for widowed people, so participants are surrounded by others with the understanding, validation and practical support that only comes from a shared experience.
To show our gratitude
we can offer our volunteer presenters the following free of charge:
- Access to the full 2024 conference, including all social events
- Projector, screen, wired microphone, presentation pre-loaded onto laptop and clicker
- Advertising space in the conference program
- Opportunity to sell a book you authored (or other approved item) at our onsite Camp shop*
- Advertising space in the conference program
- Opportunity to include promotional material in the conference bag
- Recognition on our website and social media channels
- Opportunity to display a pull-up banner during your presentation
- An audience of widowed people who will appreciate and greatly benefit from your message
- Opportunity to give back to the widowed community
*20% of sales is retained by First Light to contribute to operating costs
First Light fundraises a significant amount to subsidise the ticket cost for all participants, as such our presenters are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses and any supporting materials required for their presentation.
All our presenters are volunteers, and we are unable to provide payment or speakers’ fees.
We do receive more expressions of interest than we can accomodate, making the selection process challenging. Presenters are selected based on the needs of our community and organisation, to ensure that the program offers a broad range of topics and workshops.
We also take into consideration if a presenter has attended camp before, their experience in presenting personal experiences, as well as diversity.
We appreciate you taking the time to complete your application.
We will commence reviewing applications in January 2024.
